What is a Health Coach?
A Health Coach is someone who works with their clients on stress and weight management and helps them establish an enjoyable, effective exercise program. We know healthy eating and being active are such an important part of a healthy lifestyle but many people find it stressful just trying to make these healthy habits part of their day to day living. This is where a Health Coach comes in and takes the stress and the confusion away.

How is a Health Coach Different from a Personal Trainer?
When Jane worked as a Personal Trainer she met with her clients to do a one hour exercise session. She provided the equipment and the expertise. All the client had to do was show up and Jane then took them through a one hour exercise program suited to their abilities and their fitness goals.
As a Health Coach she will still have her expertise as a Personal Trainer to design a suitable exercise program but now she acts as a coach in helping her clients become the best they can be. So together with her clients they will design a healthy lifestyle contract. This contract will look at the client’s lifestyle including what they eat, what they do for exercise and how they manage their stress. Together they will come up with a weekly working plan for the client to follow. The client will email or text Jane throughout the week with followup information on how the week is going. Each week the previous week will be analyzed and a new plan set up for the coming week.
